History of academy runs back to 385BC. The first academy found in the history is Plato, the grate philosopher�s school of philosophy at Athens. Generally an academy is a collection of institutions providing higher education to the students in various disciplines.
Like in many other countries, there are private as well as state owned academies. The state owned academies are the main places for research and developments in spite of the education to under graduate and post graduate students. To enter into a state academy (university) the students have to be qualified at the General Certificate of Education Advance Level examination while the post graduate diplomas and master�s degree programs are offered based on prior education qualification and working experience.
The second type is semi government and private academies. Of them mostly available are the private institutions. Students of different education levels and different financial strength can apply for these academies; the level of education required and the course fees varied among the institutes. However, these institutes also play a major role in producing skilled persons to the countries work force.
